Implants
Fix the root of the problem with dental implants
Dental implants are a great way to replace a missing tooth/teeth and also provides a fixed solution to having removable partial or complete dentures.
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is an artificial cylinder used to replace the root of a tooth. An artificial tooth or crown is typically placed on top of the implant.
Implant supported dentures
A dental implant can also be used to support dentures, for example if you have dentures that do not fit you properly.
The process
Getting implants typically involves:
- X-rays / molds are made of your jaw
- Recommendation on best implant type/size
- Dental surgery to fit the implant by periodontist (gum specialist)
- Post surgery checkups to make sure everything is tracking well.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
